Joining Temple Fitness was truly a turning point for me. After celebrating my 50th birthday, I found myself feeling unlike the active, energetic person I had always been. I had never really struggled with weight until perimenopause hit, and suddenly, my usual diet and exercise routine just weren’t cutting it anymore.
After talking with my OB-Gyn, she recommended I increase my protein intake and start weight training. I was a bit skeptical at first, but open to trying something new. I knew from past experience that I preferred working with a trainer—and I craved a supportive community.
That’s when I found Temple Fitness, and I honestly believe it was divine timing. From the moment I walked through the doors, I had a strong sense that this was where I belonged. I signed up for small group training, nutrition coaching, and the infrared sauna membership.
Meeting with Yolanda to create a nutrition plan was incredibly encouraging. I was relieved to learn that I didn’t have to follow a restrictive or extreme diet. The plan was simple, sustainable, and allowed me to continue enjoying date nights with my husband.
Once I started small group training, I immediately connected with the women in my group. The camaraderie and accountability they offered were exactly what I needed.
After 8 months in the program, I “graduated” from nutrition coaching with a 25-pound weight loss. Even two months after stopping macro tracking, I’ve maintained my progress. I feel empowered and educated—I now understand how to adjust my nutrition to meet my goals.

As we age, we risk losing flexibility, strength, and mobility, but by staying active, we can maintain these vital qualities. I'm doing everything I can to stay independent and strong as I grow older!
